Louisiana College exists to prepare graduates and transform lives. In pursuit of that vision, we have renamed the Division of Christian Studies, the School of Missions & Ministries. For qualified enrolling freshmen seeking to answer God’s call to Christian vocation, possible areas of study include pastoral ministry, evangelism, biblical studies, church planting, missions, worship leadership and apologetics.
The Missions & Ministries student automatically qualifies for the Fred Lowery Scholarship of $6,000 annually. Other possible awards could lower the cost of attendance by more than 60 percent. Named for Fred Lowery -- who was pastor for 30 years of First Baptist Church, Bossier City -- the scholarship may be combined with several others forms of financial aid, including TOPS, for qualified students.
Students must submit the Lowery Scholarship form, a statement about their call to ministry and a letter from their pastor verifying the students call to ministry. These should be emailed to allison.weaver@lacollege.edu. Student must be pursuing a degree under the School of Missions & Ministries. Award not to exceed $6,000 per year. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA. podcast preacher preacher of la
